“Gobi” JSI was founded in 1981 by the joint effort of Mongolian and Japanese governments with an aim to produce 100 percent natural cashmere and camel wool.
In 2007, Tavan Bogd Trade, together with Japanese partners, acquired 73.45 percent interest of its whole share. With its 30 year history, Gobi is now one of the most five luxurious knitwear brands in the world.
The Gobi factory produces 800’000 different knit wears, 25’000 sewn products and 350’000 m2 knitted products and sells them in the domestic and foreign markets. Previously exported all the products, the company now put half of its products by wholesale and at retail on domestic market. The Gobi products are sold in stores of more than 20 developed cities including New-York, Tokyo, London, Paris, Berlin, Hamburg, Brussels, Moscow and Seoul with “Made in Mongolia” label. The products have the high reputation and are counted as the bestselling products all over the world.
